American National Bank opened for business
in May 1983. The original location was at 10 West Main in what is now
known as the Colston building. In January 1984 the home office moved
to it's present location at 1901 North Commerce.
Since the institutions conception Jesse Cross has held the position as
President and most of the bank's founders continue as American National Bank's
directors. Thanks to their strong leadership and progressive ideas,
American National Bank has grown to over $150,000,000 in assets and
have added four branch locations.

in July 1988, and the Wilson Branch in July 1990. Two other additions
have been the Lone Grove Branch in September 1994 and the Homeland Branch in April 1998. These branches are full service,
designed to provide quality customer service to all American National
Bank customers.
